CONCEPTEN (pronounced "en," as in "end") takes its name from a Japanese sound shared by words meaning circle (円), connection (縁), and comfort (宴).
EN04 is a light-and-sound sculpture built on circles that cannot be seen directly. A two-way mirror reflects the light again and again, so the circles appear only as optical illusions, completed by the viewer's movement. The light responds to the sound, so the circles seem to breathe with it. The circle exists not in the object but in the connection between the work and the person looking at it, offering a moment of comfort and rest.
