CONCEPTSEI (pronounced "say") takes its name from a Japanese sound shared by words meaning star (星), silence (静), and life (生).
SEI02 is a 16-foot interactive LED sculpture designed for the Manhattan Bridge archway in DUMBO. When no one is near, it rests in silence as a still star of light. When a visitor places a hand over the sensor, it comes to life. The number of fingers they hold up sets one of ten patterns of light and sound in motion, so each visitor creates their own version of the work.
